Build a High-Performance PC for the Same Price as a PS5 Pro

After much anticipation, the PS5 Pro has finally been released! However, its official price of $825 is quite high for most players. Additionally, while the PS5 Pro excels in entertainment, it doesn’t offer much in terms of productivity. This has led many players to prefer building a desktop PC instead, as it not only allows for gaming but can also be used for work.

Here, we will recommend an AMD-based hardware configuration that is roughly the same price as the PS5 Pro.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT

For a gaming PC, the Ryzen 5 5600GT is an excellent choice, offering 6 cores and 12 threads. It delivers a smooth experience both for gaming and productivity tasks like word processing.

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME A520M-K

The ASUS PRIME A520M-K is an entry-level M-ATX motherboard, perfect for gamers and offering great value for the price.

RAM: Kingston FURY Beast 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4-3200

As a top-tier memory manufacturer, Kingston’s FURY Beast series is designed specifically for gamers. This RAM offers high frequency, excellent stability, and automatic overclocking support. It’s a great option for players who want to boost their memory performance.

SSD: XPG ADATA Legend 900 2TB

Since the PS5 Pro offers 2TB of storage, we’ve selected the XPG ADATA Legend 900 2TB SSD for this build. This SSD provides ultra-fast read speeds of 7000MB/s and write speeds of 5400MB/s, along with a large 2TB capacity, ensuring smooth gameplay without lag.

Cooling: darkFlash Z4 Single Tower Single Fan Cooler

The darkFlash Z4 is a minimalist cooler that doesn’t sacrifice performance. With its four copper heat pipes and a high-performance PWM fan that can reach up to 1600 RPM, it efficiently keeps the Ryzen 5 5600GT running at optimal performance.

Graphics Card: Gainward RX7600XT 16G

Since the PS5 Pro’s chip is based on the AMD architecture, we recommend the Gainward RX7600XT 16G, which is also based on AMD's RDNA 3 architecture. This card comes equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 memory and supports AMD's FSR technology, providing significant improvements in both graphics and gaming performance.

Power Supply: FSP Holy Knight 650W

The FSP Holy Knight 650W features high-quality, industrial-grade Japanese electrolytic capacitors and is 80 Plus® Bronze certified, ensuring the power supply's reliability and efficiency.

Case: DB330M Mirror Island Seaside House

The DB330M Mirror Island Seaside House is a new addition to darkFlash's popular DB330M Mirror Island series. This case maintains the signature features of the DB330M Mirror Island, such as the lack of a front pillar and side I/O, while enhancing space utilization. This design allows the DB330M Mirror Island to take up less desk space.

Supporting M-ATX, the compact DB330M Mirror Island can still accommodate most graphics cards (up to 322mm in length) and coolers with a height of 180mm or less. It also comes with five 120mm fans pre-installed to ensure optimal cooling for your system.

After the release of the PS5 Pro’s price, many players feel that its pricing is not very reasonable. For nearly $825, you can build a gaming PC that offers great performance. Moreover, since PS5-exclusive games are no longer limited to the console platform, opting for a gaming PC might be the best choice right now.
