Product availability, included power cables, and warranty terms may vary by region. Before purchasing, confirm the product’s compatibility and regional specifications with the retailer or distributor from which you plan to purchase it.

How do I choose the right power supply for my PC?

Consider the following when selecting a power supply:

Form factor and dimensions: Confirm whether your case supports an ATX, SFX, or SFX-L power supply. Also check the available installation depth, especially in compact cases.

Wattage: Estimate the total power requirements of your CPU, graphics card, storage devices, fans, and other components. Follow the graphics card manufacturer’s recommended PSU capacity and allow reasonable headroom for peak loads and future upgrades.

Connectors: Make sure the power supply includes the required 24-pin motherboard, CPU EPS, graphics card, SATA, and peripheral connectors. Some modern graphics cards require a native 12V-2x6 or another specific power connector.

Standards: For newer high-performance components, consider a power supply that supports a recent ATX specification and the required PCIe power standard.

Efficiency: Certifications such as 80 PLUS and Cybenetics can help you compare power efficiency, heat output, and noise performance.

Protection and quality: Look for appropriate electrical protection features, reliable construction, and warranty support in your region.

Cable design: Modular or semi-modular cables can make installation and cable management easier, especially in compact cases.

Como escolher a fonte de alimentação certa para o meu PC?

How do I choose the right PSU wattage for my PC build?

Start with the recommended PSU wattage provided by your graphics card manufacturer, then account for the CPU and the rest of your system.

Choose a PSU with enough capacity for the system’s expected peak power draw, plus reasonable headroom for temporary power spikes, future upgrades, or overclocking.

Also confirm that the PSU provides all required power connectors for your motherboard, CPU, graphics card, and storage devices. Wattage alone does not guarantee compatibility.

Can I use modular PSU cables from another brand or model?

modular PSU cables from another brand or model unless darkFlash has explicitly confirmed that the cable is compatible with your exact PSU model.

Modular connectors may look identical but use different pin assignments on the PSU side. Using an incompatible cable can damage the power supply, motherboard, graphics card, storage devices, or other components.

Use only the cables included with your PSU or replacement cables approved for that exact model. Before connecting or replacing any PSU cable, turn off the PC, switch off the PSU, and unplug the power cord.

and provide the complete PSU model number.

, also known as semi-passive fan mode. When this mode is active, the fan remains off during startup or under light system loads. It starts spinning only when the power supply reaches a specific temperature or load level. This is normal and helps reduce noise and fan wear.

Check the specifications for your exact power supply model to confirm whether it supports Zero RPM mode. If the power supply has a fan mode switch, make sure it is set according to the product instructions.

Do not insert anything into the fan grille or open the power supply. Dangerous voltage may remain inside the unit even after it has been disconnected.

For a more detailed explanation, please read

Why Is My PSU Fan Not Spinning? Understanding Zero RPM Mode

If your power supply does not support Zero RPM mode, or if the fan does not start when the system is under load and the unit becomes unusually hot, produces an unusual smell or sound, or causes the computer to shut down, turn off the computer and unplug it immediately.

Contact the retailer or distributor from which you purchased the product for inspection, replacement, or warranty service.

Why is my power supply fan not spinning?

Some power supplies feature Zero RPM mode, also known as semi-passive fan mode. When this mode is active, the fan remains off during startup or under light system loads. It starts spinning only when the power supply reaches a specific temperature or load level. This is normal and helps reduce noise and fan wear.

How can I test my power supply if my PC will not boot?

Before testing the power supply, check the following:

A power supply fan may remain off when Zero RPM mode is active, so a stationary fan does not always indicate that the power supply has failed.

For detailed testing instructions, please read

How to Test a Power Supply (PSU) If Your PC Won’t Boot

Follow the instructions carefully. Before setting up the test described in the article, switch off the power supply, unplug it from the wall, and disconnect it from all computer components. Reconnect power only when instructed. If you are unfamiliar with power supply testing, ask a qualified technician for assistance.

Never open the power supply enclosure or touch its internal components. Dangerous voltage may remain inside even after the unit has been disconnected.

A basic power-on test can show whether the power supply starts, but it cannot confirm that every voltage output remains stable under load.

If the power supply does not start, the computer continues to shut down unexpectedly, or you notice excessive heat, an unusual smell, or unusual sounds, stop using it. Contact the retailer or distributor from which you purchased the product for inspection, replacement, or warranty service.

How can I test my power supply if my PC will not boot?

Before testing the power supply, check the following:

Confirm that the wall outlet or power strip is working.

Make sure the power cable is connected securely.

Check that the switch on the back of the power supply is set to the ON position.

Confirm that the 24-pin motherboard cable and CPU power cable are connected correctly.

Check the graphics card power cables, if required.

Make sure the case power-button connector is connected to the correct motherboard header.

A power supply fan may remain off when Zero RPM mode is active, so a stationary fan does not always indicate that the power supply has failed.
